Verdugo Internal Medicine

Offering a Patient-Centered, Preventive Approach to Healthcare That Provides a Path to Wellness

Verdugo Internal Medicine was founded in 1988 on the prescient belief that healthcare should be patient-centered rather than disease-focused; proactive, not reactive. More than 30 years later, the practice prides itself on seeing its patients as individuals; not numbers, charts, or test results. The doctors spend quality, one-on-one time with each person; listening to their histories, looking at various physiological and lifestyle factors, and utilizing appropriate screenings or tests to assess the whole individual, not just a set of symptoms. The result is a unique collaboration between doctor and patient in developing a customized wellness plan that meets their current lifestyle demands and also helps to manage acute or chronic medical needs should they arise.

That same level of personalized attention carries over into the front office and waiting room, as well. Patients can expect to be greeted by name and experience only a short wait time before seeing their physician. When calling in, questions are answered within 24 hours. An appointment can usually be set up the same day for emergencies. If the assigned doctor is not available, another physician in the office will see a patient who has an urgent need. The doctors answer all calls at night and on the weekends. VIM does not use a part-time doctor to "fill in" when people are on vacation; rather staff members cover one another’s patient load.

The Board Certified physicians at Verdugo Internal Medicine provide primary care for patients over age 16. Each doctor has his or her own phone number and staff.
